Ready to do some business big business – Daily Sun Newspaper – 3 May 2013

A group of 18 entrepreneurs yesterday returned from the trip of a lifetime to the United Kingdom. The local business people visited London, Coventry and Ipswich where they met potential business partners and investors.

The trip was part of the international Trade Programme and aimed to give local entrepreneurs an opportunity to create jobs and contribute to the economic growth of South Africa. The initiative was made possible by the Micro Enterprise Development Organisation (MEDO) and British Telecom Global Services.

Business partners Nathi Tshabalala and Obakeng Matlhoko, who own a mobile application development company called Sowertech, said the experience gave them a lot of exposure. “We even got the opportunity to pitch some of our ideas to venture capitalists and they liked them. We obviously still have to finalise some things,” Obakeng said. Businessman Mashudu Munasi, who owns Munasi Consulting, said there was very grateful for the opportunity to grow his business.

“I finally got to meet a lot of people I have been talking to over the years. We also got some projects,” he said. Medo CEO judi Sandrock said: “It was such an eye-opener for them. They realised that they are first class in terms of their business and capability.”
